• CVN-80, the United States Navy's proposed replacement for the USS Nimitz (CVN-68), to be commissioned.
• Costa Rica will become a carbon-neutral nation. The target date has been set by President Oscar Arias. ^[3]
• CityRail will commence phasing out its 1970-1977 V-Sets for newer, more modern cars. The new trains are currently unknown.
• Intel scientists predict that the shrinking of microchips roughly every 18 months (Moore's Law) will reach a fundamental limit by 2021. The Semiconductor industry won't be able to shrink transistors much, if at all, beyond the 16 nanometer technology process. ^[4]
