This page is for requesting that a page, image or template be fully protected, semi-protected, move-protected or unprotected. Please read up on the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection is usually used only to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. After a page has been protected, the protection is listed in the page history and logs with a short description indicating why it was protected, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. Further discussion should take place on the Talk page of the article. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins do not revert back to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
If you would like to request a page to be protected or unprotected, please follow the following steps:

temporary full protection Dispute, Constant edit warring.Emarsee (Talk • Contribs) 07:41, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit]
semi protection. Consistently high levels of vandalism and deletion of sourced material by anons. This is always happening with this article. Mitsube (talk) 07:16, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit]
semi protection. Consistently high levels of vandalism, page blanking, adding incorrect or miscellaneous information, and the like, especially recently. Mostly done by unregistered users and new users. This is a GA-class article and the vast majority of edits being made by new & unregistered users consist of vandalism or edits which reduce the quality of the article, which have to constantly be monitored and undone, and often not in time. Abog (talk) 06:50, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit]
semi protection, preferably long term. FA-class article with no substantial work being done on it and a regular flow of IP vandalism in the recent past. Steven Walling (talk) 02:39, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of three months. After three months the page will be automatically unprotected.. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 04:03, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

temporary semi-protection , Suggest 1 week. Spamming f365nws.com - should perhaps investigate those accounts and/or blacklisting as well.. — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 00:32, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of 1 month. After 1 month the page will be automatically unprotected. Skier Dude (talk) 04:56, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Current requests for unprotection
If you simply want to make spelling corrections or add information to a protected page that is not disputed, and you are not involved in any disputes there, consider simply adding {{Editprotected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. See the list of current {{Editprotected}} requests.
If you do want a page that exists unprotected, please try to ask the protecting admin first before making a request here.
Check here if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
[edit]
unprotection , It appears that the arguement that caused this article to be protected has ended and thus protection is no longer needed. If it is decided to remove protection i will watch over the article as i have a personal interest in that i actualy went to this school .Kirachinmoku (talk) 18:20, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Declined, protection is quite recent and as it was protected for vandalism, of course it ended, that's why it was protected for. I suggest you ask the protecting admin, Shell Kinney (talk · contribs), to elaborate on why they chose to infinitely protect it and/or request unprotection. Regards SoWhy 21:35, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Current requests for edits to a protected page
- When making requests here, either:
- Provide a good reason for a substantial edit to a protected page. These are only done in exceptional circumstances, or when there is very clear consensus for an edit and continued protection. Please link to the talk page where consensus was reached.
- Demonstrate that there is a clear dispute over a protected page, and that a specific dispute tag would be appropriate to add. Please link to the talk page where the dispute exists.
Note: Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add {{Editprotected}}, {{Editsemiprotected}} or {{Request edit}} to the article's talk page if you would like an inconsequential change rather than requesting it here, though most of these should simply wait for unprotection.

[edit] Fulfilled/denied requests
[edit]
Semi-protect. An earlier request was denied because no one was reverting the vandalism on the article. However, since I've been keeping an eye on the article for the last couple of days, it has received a high amount of vandalism from IP accounts. --Farix (Talk) 00:14, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of 2 weeks. After 2 weeks the page will be automatically unprotected.AKRadeckiSpeaketh 00:23, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Semi-protect - IP address have been editing the page continually since last night, adding unsourced airdates to future episodes. Some are citing a trailer for the upcoming episode (which only aired on select broadcasts), but, given that the episode won't air to sometime in 2009, and that the studio has not released any real official statement regarding when the next episode will air, I have tried to explain that citing a trailer is not reliable. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 19:48, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

semi-protect. IP address edits repeatedly removing information - may be the subject of the item itself trying to suppress information. Zoeoconnell (talk) 19:45, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Declined – There is not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection at this time. If there's significantly more disruptive activity in the future, consider relisting. SoWhy 21:41, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Just for future reference, do you have any guidelines on how much and how recent disruptive edits have to be to warrant semi-protection? (Don't want to relist here if it occurs again and it hasn't gotten bad enough yet) Thanks. Zoe O'Connell ⚢⚧ (talk) 21:56, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Usually it needs a.) a long-term disruption for weeks and months or b.) a short-term surge of disruption, in both cases more vandalism/disruption than in this case (see this article's history for an example where semi-protection was necessary). I suggest you review the protection policy and consider warning and/or requesting a block for those users who disrupt the article. Regards SoWhy 22:20, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

temporary semi protection Vandalism, Annoying IP vandalism..ṜedMarkViolinistDrop me a line 17:13, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Apart from minor vandalism, from 138.87.161.42 (talk · contribs), I see no other vandalism. Full-protection should only be used in disputes and very heavy vandalism. This is neither. Suggest declining or semi-protecting instead. D.M.N. (talk) 17:17, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Full protection needed quite urgently: Huge edit war developing on this featured article. There is currently a court case going on and The Sun tabloid has spread a rumour that Jackson has converted to Islam (this is all linked to the court case). The rest of the media are reporting the Sun's story and editors are changing the whole article to say that Jackson is now Muslim. The article needs protecting until this latest rubbish dies down. — Realist2 16:37, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Unprotection. I couldn't figure out why this page is protected, and I just want to leave the guy a message. --Zvika (talk) 06:09, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Declined. Umm...why? The user left the project more than 2 1/2 years ago and has not edited since. I am quite sure there was a good reason for protection and I do not see why you want to leave a message to someone who will surely never read it. SoWhy 09:12, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
